Ελληνικός Καφές (Κλασικός)

Ο καφές είναι ένα παγκόσμια διαδεδομένο ρόφημα, το οποίο κατασκευάζεται από τα καβουρδισμένα και αλεσμένα σπέρματα της καφέας ή καφεόδεντρου. Ο καφές έχει αναζωογονητική δράση, η οποία οφείλεται στο βασικό του συστατικό, την καφεΐνη, ένα αλκαλοειδές συστατικό που υπάρχει στους σπόρους των καρπών του.

Ο παραδοσιακός μας καφές, ο λεγόμενος ελληνικός, κάνει την εμφάνισή του κατά τη διάρκεια της Τουρκοκρατίας. Οι Έλληνες της Κωνσταντινούπολης και της Βόρειας Ελλάδας είναι οι πρώτοι που υιοθετούν αυτή τη συνήθεια. Με την πάροδο των χρόνων εξαπλώνεται και στην υπόλοιπη ελληνική επικράτεια και μετά τα καφενεία, στις αρχές του 1900 εμφανίζονται και τα πρώτα καφεκοπτεία.

Ελληνικός καφές (γνωστός σε χώρες της δυτικής Ευρώπης ως “Τούρκικος Καφές”) είναι είδος καφέ που παρασκευάζεται με ψήσιμο, σε μπρίκι, αλεσμένων σε λεπτή σκόνη καβουρντισμένων κόκκων καφέ και ο οποίος πίνεται περισσότερο από κάθε άλλο είδος καφέ σε πολλές περιοχές της ανατολικής Μεσογείου, της Μέσης Ανατολής, των Βαλκανίων και της ΒόρειαςΑφρικής.
